Robertson

Robertson in the Cape Winelands was founded in 1853. Nestled at the foothills of the Langeberg mountains, the town reflects the versatile South African society in all its diversity. Beautiful Victorian style houses set on streets with flowering jacarandas is one of the characteristics of "the jacaranda capital of the Western Cape."

The Robertson wine valley, embracing the districts Ashton, Bonnievale, McGregor and Robertson is less than two hours drive from Cape Town and boasts 31 wine cellars in the valley.

Robertson Valley has interesting activities and attractions to offer such as, hiking the Dassieshoek trail, visiting nature reserves, horse riding through vineyards, 4X4 routes, succulent gardens and a huge maze to discover. Wine tasting, river rafting and admiring the top race horses for which this area is world renowned are also on offer.

Wellington

Wellington, steeped in 300 years of history and tradition, has a magical atmosphere that will captivate your heart once you discover the town, its people and its diverse variety of attractions. The town is a mere 45 minutes (72 km) drive from Cape Town and is within easy reach of the rest of the Cape Winelands, and coastal attractions. The wide-open spaces and tranquillity of the area is addictive, so don´t be surprised if you need to come back for more!

Wellington Wine Route has a choice of excellent award winning red and white wines. Indulge yourself in South African Dried Fruits´world-renowned dried fruits or visit an olive farm and see first hand how olive oil is made. Wellington is also a factory shop fanatic´s dream with, leather products, tiles, fruit juices, waterblommetjies, (a water flower used in local dishes or stews) crockery and much more. Adrenaline junkies can test their skills by trying horse riding, mountain hiking, mountain bike trails and the Wellington Wine Walk.
