Imhoff Farm
Imhoff Farm truly offers a bit of everything, from camel rides and reptile exploration to more domestic animals and a wide variety of products and services within arts, food and activities. This is a place to relax, but also for exploring and experiencing new things.

MTN Science Centre
The Science centre offers a great variety of activities and curiosities, and can keep a whole family entertained for hours. It is a place where you can have fun, while learning about scientific discoveries and technological innovations.

They have over 280 displays as well as an auditorium, camera obscura, computer rooms, laboratories, and exhibition hall.

Two Oceans Aquarium

The southern tip of the African continent is the meeting place of two mighty and bountiful oceans, the Indian and the Atlantic. The Two Oceans Aquarium on the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town is ideally positioned to showcase the incredible diversity of marine life found in these two oceans. The Aquarium is one of the top tourist attractions in Cape Town and over 3000 living sea animals, including sharks, fishes, seals, turtles and penguins can be seen in this spectacular underwater nature reserve. Perfect for children – the aquarium houses a series of touch pool for kids to feel and interact with sea life.

Scratch Patch
It’s an inexpensive visit and popular with all ages – and being surrounded by so many colourful stones is a memorable and uplifting experience.  More and more “mainstream” people are starting to believe that gemstones have “powers” – and being surrounded by so many beautiful polished gemstones certainly does have a calming effect on many people – and especially children!

Butterfly World
Located at Klapmuts, a few kilometres further along the N1 highway from the zoo is the butterfly park at Butterfly World. The park is located on over 1000 m2 of covered garden and boasts one of the largest live butterfly displays in the world with specimens from over 3 continents.

Tygerberg Zoo
Tygerberg Zoo is located in a rural area, 39 km from the city alongside the N1 highway near Paarl. The zoo is on 24 hectares and a large variety of wildlife, some of it rare and seldom seen can be viewed. The zoo is more of a wildlife park than a traditional zoo with the animals being free to roam about spacious enclosures rather than being confined to cages. On view are a large variety of animals including the big cats (lion, leopard and cheetah), numerous antelope, crocodiles, birds, monkeys, baboons and chimpanzees among others.

World of Birds
The World of Birds, in Hout Bay, was founded over 25 years ago, initially as a commercial breeding venture but it soon became a haven for sick and injured birds. Over 3000 bird species can be viewed in landscaped, walk through aviaries. A gift shop and restaurant are available.

Planetarium
Sound and light are combined to reproduce the southern heavens on the domed ceiling of the Planetarium, alongside the SA Museum in the Gardens, Cape Town. The instruments used can reproduce the night sky at any point 13 000 years before modern times or the same period in the future. A state of the art audio system ensures a never to be forgotten educational experience.
